Kuuchuu Buranko - A Hot Nurse Is Fine too!

Eksuterru-kun

,

An eccentric anime series with an inexplicably bizzare style. Kuuchuu Buranko's intriguing visual style is a case of a warped world from getting high on crack.

Original Title: 空中ブランコ
Genre: psychological
Themes: psychology, medical
No. of episodes: 11

Its style is a level higher above that of Studio SHAFT's if you will which can be a bit much. Based on the collection of short stories by Hideo Okuda, Kuuchuu Buranko tells about one eccentric psychiatrist Irabu Ichirou and his odd patient cases. The title which translates to "Trapeze" is taken from the first short story about a insomniac patient who's unconsciously xenophobic as well.

One contributing reason to the weird animation style is that Kuuchuu Buranko is a one-half 2D anime and one-half live-action hybrid show. Doctor Ichirou's hot assistant nurse Yumi-chan is one hot babe i wouln't mind getting my jabs from - a change from the usual (irl) oba-san nurses with a creepy glare or smile. A friend of mine's a nurse-in-training and she's quite the looker, so i guess all hope is not lost.

The plot itself is rather straightforward and isn't hard to digest at all rather the bizzare visual style. Ichirou seems to take on 3 different forms which is just plain weird. But upon getting past all that the series makes for an entertaining watch with snippets of helpful explanations of psychological jargons and methods throughout.

Not your typical psychological series submersed in sombre or solemn content, Kuuchuu Buranko sets itself aside from the rest with its vibrant and whacked style of storytelling and absurdities.
